Heer Shah is a Director at Pasavaja Gems LLP, the second generation of a family that has dealt in natural diamonds since 1989.
He completed his Business Management Studies at Mumbai University, and was drawn to the stages of diamond evolution from rough to polished. Before joining the family business he undertook special training with diamond cutters in Surat, which remains the foundation of how he reads a stone today. He is a GIA alumnus who has completed GIA Jewelry Essentials, and is certified by the De Beers Institute and the Rapaport Academy.
Heer leads the house's bespoke jewelry commissions. He designs each piece and works directly with the small group of setters and finishers who make it, so the stone and the setting are considered together from the beginning rather than as separate decisions. Responsible sourcing is a founding principle he holds the house to: it shapes how suppliers are selected and how the house speaks to its clients.
