Privacy Policy
Sourced, cut and set with the same standard we would apply to a stone for ourselves.
What it is
Last updated 2 October 2026.
This policy explains what personal information PASAVAJA collects when you use this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it in plain terms.
Who we are
PASAVAJA is the trading name of Pasavaja Gems LLP, a diamond house based in Mumbai, India. We sell natural white and fancy color diamonds to private buyers and to the trade, in India and internationally. We are the data controller for the information described below.
What we collect, and why
When you contact us
Our enquiry and quote forms ask for your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to tell us in the message. Some forms also take a phone number and the reference of a stone you are asking about. We collect this for one reason: to answer you. Your enquiry is stored on this website and emailed to us, so that a mail delivery failure never means a lost enquiry.
When you tap WhatsApp
When you tap a WhatsApp button on this site we record that it happened: the page you were on, the stone it concerned, the date and time, whether you were on a phone or a computer, and your IP address. Unless you have declined analytics cookies, the record also carries your visitor ID and the pages you looked at beforehand (see below). We do not learn your name or your number from this, and nothing you later write in WhatsApp is captured here. We record it so we can see which diamonds people ask about, and to stop automated abuse of the button.
IP addresses are deleted after 90 days. The record that someone enquired is kept; the IP attached to it is erased automatically.
If you place an order
This site runs on WooCommerce. If you create an account or place an order we hold the details you give us for that purpose: name, billing and delivery address, email, phone number, and a record of what you ordered. We keep order and invoice records for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires. We never see or store your full card details — payment is handled by bank transfer, and any card processing is performed by the payment provider, not by us.
Automatically, as you browse
Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and which are not. Google receives no names, email addresses, phone numbers or IP addresses from us.
Recognizing you when you come back
On your first visit your browser is given a visitor ID: a random code stored in a cookie called pv_vid. It contains nothing about you and is not derived from your device or your IP address. It lets us count how often the same visitor returns, which site, search or campaign brought you here, and, once a visit starts, a short list of the pages you viewed. That list stays in your own browser and only reaches us if you then contact us through a form or WhatsApp, so that whoever answers knows which stones you were looking at. We also record each visit with its date, the page you arrived on, where you came from, whether you were on a phone or a computer, and your IP address. The same random visitor ID is shared with Google Analytics; nothing else that identifies you is.
Your cookie choice
What happens depends on where you are, because the law differs:
- UK, European Union, EEA and Switzerland: a strip at the bottom of the page asks first. Nothing is stored and no visitor ID is set until you choose "Accept".
- Everywhere else (including India, the United States, Canada, the UAE, Hong Kong and Australia): analytics are on, as described in this policy. You can switch them off at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends this signal, we treat it as "Decline" automatically, wherever you are.
We work out which rule applies from your browser's time zone, not from your IP address. Declining, or switching analytics off, deletes the visitor ID and the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. Your choice is kept for a year in a cookie called pv_consent. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising. The site works fully whatever you choose.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
- We do not rent or trade your details to other diamond dealers, brokers or marketing lists.
- We do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it.
- We do not use your enquiry to build an advertising profile of you.
Who else can see your information
Only the people who need it to do their job. Specifically:
- SiteGround, who host this website and our email.
- Google (Analytics), for the statistics described above. Google receives the random visitor ID, never your name, contact details or IP address.
- Shipping and insurance partners — Malca-Amit, Brink's, Ferrari, FedEx, DHL, UPS — but only the delivery details needed to get a parcel to you, and only once you have an order.
- Our bank and our accountants, for payments and statutory records.
- Anyone we are legally required to disclose to, such as customs authorities on an international shipment.
Because we are based in India and sell worldwide, information you send us is processed in India. If you are writing to us from the UK or the European Economic Area, that is a transfer outside your home jurisdiction, and you are agreeing to it by contacting us.
How long we keep things
- IP addresses attached to enquiries, WhatsApp taps and visits: 90 days, then erased automatically.
- Visit records (date, landing page, where you came from, visitor ID): 13 months, then deleted. The
pv_vidcookie itself lasts 13 months from your latest visit. - Enquiries and quote requests: kept while there is a live conversation, and afterwards as a record of who we have dealt with. Ask us and we will delete yours.
- Orders, invoices and shipping records: as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
- Google Analytics: 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. If you are in the UK or the EEA, the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR give you these rights explicitly; we will honour a reasonable request from anyone, wherever they are, unless the law requires us to keep a record such as an invoice.
Write to info@pasavaja.com and tell us what you want done. We will reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your information to somebody else.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, access to the systems holding enquiries is restricted and password-protected, and our stock system is separate from this website. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise; if a breach ever affected your information we would tell you and the relevant authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
